MS Resources
Starting around 2000 my darling wife began having pain in her neck, lower back and numness in her hands and legs. later came a condition, where we thought she was having a stroke.
We did the circut of doctors, pain management centers, MRIs and Xrays which never produced any clear cut cause for these problems.
In August 2008, while talking to one of her doctors she mentioned that she was feeling nothing on one side of her body.
The doctor told her to go to Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina for an MRI and had a neurologist read the results.
The Neurologist came into her hospital room and said "I bet doctors have been telling you, for years, it's all in your head. Well I'm here to tell you that it is, It's called MS.
After the initial shock of what we had just heard and the thoughts of bed-ridden or wheel chairs for the rest of her life we began to realize that this is something that could be treated and that, at least we now knew what was wrong.
Over the past year we have learned much about this MonSter and hope to pass some of this knowledge on to those who are interested.
